psychotherapy

What is psychotherapy about? At its core, psychotherapy is about gaining knowledge about yourself in order to better operate in the world. This can sometimes be about a specific issue or more generally about the whole of your life.

Functioning well in the world of relationships (family, friends, loved ones, work colleagues) makes life easier and exciting and it contributes to you have a greater sense of wellbeing.

Psychotherapy is a way of discovering more of yourself and making friends with your thoughts, feelings and emotions. Through a process of self discovery, you become your “best self.”

While we can't change difficult situations from the past, we can work together to better understand and resolve challenges in your life. By applying complementary therapy approaches and techniques, we can unearth long-standing behavior patterns that may be holding you back from experiencing a more fulfilling and meaningful life.

Understanding how you operate, what are your ways of seeing things, as well as having an understanding of how other people operate, means you are going to be better equipped to cope in your life.

Tibetan Buddhist Psychotherapy

I also offer Tibetan Buddhist Psychotherapist which integrates foundational concepts of Tibetan Buddhism with clinical psychotherapy. Concepts such as impermanence, compassion, interdependence and the truth of life and death, offer a different quality of understanding compared to the usual western, Christian and medical paradigms.

You don't have to be Buddhist or become a Buddhist to enter into therapy that has this model of understanding. All you need is an appreciation of the values that this approach takes.

Buddhist Psychotherapy works from a Buddhist perspective turning challenges and difficulties into opportunities for growth and transformation.

Inspired and informed by the Ancient teachings of Buddhism, I work with clients within a framework that recognises and affirms the emotional, intellectual, physical and spiritual parts of our being.

Individuals are empowered to renew, revitalize, re-discover and maintain vibrant well-being. As you increase awareness of the nature of your own health patterns and the pathways that work for you, you are better informed to bring about positive long term balance in your physical, psychological, emotional, social, environmental and spiritual life.
